October 8th, 2010 — My Healthy Eating Challenge Tagged Eating Healthy Food, Healthy Eating, Recipes, Vegetarian

In todays busy life it is so very easy to avoid cooking and looking at how to give meals to the family that are served quickly, with little fuss. Does it mean that you are going to be sitting down eating a healthy meal, or one that has no nutriental value at all.
Healthy Eating Done Easy
Trying to feed a family is not easy, especially if they all have different taste/likes/dislikes. But it can be fun exploring new ways to eat Healthy. Including the family in the cooking process can also be fun…its amazing what kids can put together for dinner that has so many different colours, flavors and is so good for them. Turning meals times into family fun times with Healthy Eating is possible.
What about looking at a different way to loose weight? Are you curious about how you could look yummy this summer? Be curious no more and find out more right here.
If you are a vegetarian there are many different books out there for recipes and yummy tasting food or you could turn to websites that provide free recipes like this one.
Amazingly enough our family has become turned more and more to Vegetarian Meals for Dinner time. It started off with our second oldest boy deciding to be a vegetarian then I followed, and then soon it just became easier to serve one meal for all of the family so David and I started serving Healthy Vegetarian dishes. Its fun trying to find a recipe that we all like, that is new and one that we know will be Healthy Eating for our boys.
With teenagers it sure is interesting trying to fill them up at dinner time. And to keep them from eating us out of house and home…..so when do come across a recipe that we all enjoy cooking and eating we make sure we put aside the recipe for another healthy dinner.
One of our favorites is Vegetarian Chili Con Carne – changed to suit our family taste but gee its so yummy that there is hardly any left overs for the next day. If you are looking for a healthy eating recipe then try this Vegetarian Chilli that I came across.

Being from a big family (we have five boys!!) we like to cook most of our meals. That way we know what is in the ingredients, know that it will have a high vitamin value and keep them full for longer
Hubby is such a good cook, and likes to experiment more than I do….so we have a huge range of healthy recipes to choose from.
Do you have any yummy Healthy Eating recipes that you would like to share? Would love to hear about your ideas on you keep your family happy and healthy with full tummy’s – share your Healthy Eating below.
Cheers

October 5th, 2010 — My Healthy Lifestyle Challenge, My Healthy Mindset Challenge Tagged About Me, Health, Personality, What About Me
I am a Mother, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, Daughter-In-Law, Nurse, Friend, Lover, Cook, Cleaner, Housewife, Work Mate, Taxi Driver, Listener, Helper, Task Master, Internet Marketer - But really What About Me!
Finding Time To Be Me
I am finding that with our life and moving forward in the direction that we want with our lifestyle, that every single day I am many different people rolled into one. Its almost like I put on different hats many times in one day. Which I am sure you all feel like the same, so I know that I am no different. Its just some days I feel like climbing the tallest mountain and asking “What About Me“?
Finding The Real You In Life
With the pressure of being “Perfect” which could come from within or from the outside world around us, it does seem like we have to be the most perfect person in our own world. It seems like the pressure is on – with friends/family watching to see if you can make it in life, or to see if you crack under the pressure of being so many different people in one day…..Its almost like they are watching to see if they can say “I told you so….you are doing too much”
Do You Feel Like The Same?
If you feel like some days its all too much, and you want to go back to your simple life….of when you were young and had no one expecting you to be “Super women” – then they are the days that you need to take time for yourself, pull up the covers over your head and lie in bed doing nothing. They are the days when it is OK to say “Nope” not doing anymore today…..unless it means I can lay down with my head resting.
Its Important to think What About Me! It is really important for your own peace of mind and for your own Health to take stock of when you are feeling like the ice is about to crack under your feet and step outside of your perfect little bubble life. There is only so much your body can take, and your mind. If you are not looking after your self then it will soon start to melt under your feet, with a big puddle of a mess to clean up.
Before you are swept along with the tide, and taken out to sea to be the mercy of the world – find time to re-cap and re-coup yourself….if you are looking after number one then you will look after those around you much better. Its a fine balance in life and a real challenge to take those hats off for a little time each day. If you are not stepping away from your personalities and saying “Enough is Enough” then the cracks will grow wider and wider and become too thin to walk on.
So before you get to that boiling point, before you get to the point where the kettle is screaming – turn off. Turn your life off and take time out of the day to think What About Me. Those that do take out of their busy life to be putting themselves first for a little bit each day last longer and achieve more for themselves and those around them.
Have you thought What About Me lately?
Cheers

In Life there are choices to be made….the right ones and the wrong ones. SO when you are out for dinner with Hubby and there are no kids around to interrupt our dinner – then I have a choice to make….Sinful Cafe Desserts
Cafe By The Beach
Last night David decided to take me out for dinner – somewhere that our children are not allowed to come with us, for much needed couple time. All day we both could not decide to where to go….Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast? When we get to either city then what? Do we go to a cafe? Or a restaurant? Or some where more informal? Choices – too many to make, and I like to ask Hubby what he would prefer to do, but he likes to ask me what I prefer to do!!! Kinda like that time when the kids ask for permission to go some where and I answer “Go ask your Dad” and then David replies “Go ask your Mum” !
This time we decided to get in the car and drive up the Sunshine Coast – driving along and asking each other where the other person would like to go. By the time we got to Caloundra we both decided on going to Moffat Beach and seeing what was open. I was hoping for my most favorite place to be open “Cafe By The Beach” at Moffat beach.
The stars were on my side because when we got there they were open! Last time David and I went there we both shared a Sinful Cafe Dessert - that was so sinful but which I did not feel guilty about. This time David and I shared another Sinful Cafe Dessert – so sinful that today I am on a 24 hour Detox….but gee it was so worth it.
Sinful Dessert This Time
It was a “Night/Day Chocolate Mousse with a sweet twisted pastry” – presented in the most gorgeous way. With one spoon of the rich smooth mousse I was in love – and it was not with my hubby. I actually told hubby ‘Sorry but I am now in love with the chef” – Dave was happy with that as long as he got all the desserts he ever wanted
My only regret is not having a camera with us to take a photo of the Sinful Cafe Dessert…..so that I could remember how gorgeous the dessert looked and then ask hubby when we could go back again! When you are so lucky to find a dessert that is to die for its worth traveling to get there.
Do you have a favorite Sinful Cafe Dessert that you know is so naughty but is so worth it? If so share below where you like to go for your fix.
Cafe By The Beach at Moffat – highly recommended. If you are looking for a great meal, relaxed atmosphere and a place to sit, chat and eat then head there and let them know Healthy Lifestyle Challenge – Lisa, says hello
So wonder if that Chef is married!!

Healthy Lifestyle Challenge feels like a good clean up!! Not a Car tune up but a body tune up. When I experience a lack of energy and feel like my system is not running smoothly I seek natural ways to clear it out with an easy to do 24 Hour Detox.
How You Can Do A 24 Hour Detox
If you are feeling out of sorts and not up the challenge that life can throw your way, then listen to your body and understand what it is saying to you. Follow your natural instinct and give your body a break. It sure will thank you later, and one easy way to achieve the results you are after….be it feeling like you are years younger with more energy to burn then your children, or to feel like your system is running smoothly…..is an easy to understand 24 hour Detox.
Step By Step 24 Hour Detox
- Upon waking, drink one cup of warm water (not hot/not cold) with one squeezed lemon.
- Wait for one hour.
- Eat porridge with low fat milk and a small amount of honey. Use cooking oats that you cook on the stove top – not microwave oats. Try to eat organic quick cooking oats for the best results.
- At morning tea time have another warm cup of water – again with one lemon squeezed in your drink.
- Lunch time – eat a bowl of Brown Rice. Stay away from white rice as it will act like glue. Brown rice is helpful for detoxing the body.
- At afternoon tea time have another warm cup of water – with lemon.
- Dinner time- another bowl of Brown Rice with vegetables. Have as many “Green” vegetables as you want.
- Through out the day drink as much water as you can – at least 2 1/2 litres.
Sounds Too Good To Be True?
This time it is true and it is good!! The easy step by step 24 hour Detox works. So if you are looking for a program that will assist your body try the Detox. I found this easy guide in a book that I read, and use the method at least once a week. Its amazing how much the toxins the body can carry, and need to expel to feel like new again.
